It was cold, but we bundled up and headed outside to go for a hike in Coeur D'Alene!! The sky was gorgeous and the views were beautiful.... it was a little late in the day by the time we got up and got to the trailhead...so we were racing the sun. Could we get to the end of the trail and play on the playground before it got dark? We hope so - we would have had a lot of tears from small children if we didn't go to the playground...that was their motivation to keep going on the hike when their feet wanted to give up!!! We made good time around the trail, until we lost a few kids - they got too far ahead of us and took the wrong path- so now what? We are losing time!! Well, Clay and Laura each took a kid or two and split up - each taking a different path - and eventually we ALL found each other and were reunited and we still had a few minutes to spare before the sun set! We ended the hike at the playground - which we had practically to ourselves!!!
But once the sun went down it got super cold super fast. So, when we felt like we spent adequate time freezing at the park and everyone was tired and hungry we went out to Cafe Rio!
