Here we are getting down and dirty in the pumpkins!! Usually this is Laura's least favorite activity... she can't wait until it is over - and some years when Clay is gone - she secretly hopes the kids forget..she is always afraid someone is going to stab themselves with a knife or something- those pumpkins are hard to carve! Hates it hates it hates. Well, who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks... Laura has changed her tune this year- and it's all thanks to the kids and a cheap kit from Walmart! The kids saw a pumpkin carving kit - it had templates, a few "tools" and it was like $5 - so Laura said, sure. Well, let me tell you... that was the best $5 she has spent in a long time!! IT made carving pumpkins a whole new experience - it was so easy, so much fun, no risk of getting stabbed, and everyone could do it!!! This was a game changer...Laura wanted to go out scream it from the rooftops...GO BUY THE WALMART CARVING KITS!!! We have been doing it wrong for years! Now, she can see why people love this...this can be fun and stress free and the pumpkins turned out fantastic!!! Now, if they stop selling these kits... (like Costco - keeps getting rid of some of their best products...chocolate cake, apple muffins, etc.) forget about it kids.
Preston even "scrubbed" in for the event!! He went down and got the scrubs out of the dress up clothes, put on gloves, and did "surgery" on the pumpkins!
