When we found out that our neighbor Rachelle Hagerty was offering private swim lessons at her house - we said yes please!!! We signed up the 3 younger kids to take lessons for 3 days for 3 weeks. It was so nice...all the kids love Rachelle - so there was no drama with Erica to get into the water, it was literally across the street...doesn't get more convenient than that, plus she was flexible with weather, sick, or if something came up. And with the lessons being one on one...the kids improved so quickly!!! They learned a lot and were better swimmers - we will definitely be doing this again next year!!
On the last day of swim lessons, Laura really wanted the kids to jump into the pool fully clothed so they could feel what it would be like to fall into a pool with clothes and shoes on - in case that should ever happen so they wouldn't panic. Well, it turned out to be a really good thing, because Detric panic'd...he did not like it. He is a really good, strong swimmer, but all that confidence vanished when he had his clothes on and no goggles. So after a lot of coaxing - and Mom having to jump in first fully dressed first to show him how (not planned) - he finally did it!!! Whoo...we can do hard things!!!
