We’d heard about the Historical Downtown Davenport Hotel ever since we were first in Spokane back in 2007, but had never stayed there. So Clay & Laura got a babysitter (thank you Linda Abrams - you are the best. The kids LOVED her!! She even bought donuts...the kids were in heaven) and had a night away in downtown Spokane. The hotel was pretty classy & amazing, and hanging out in downtown Spokane in the evening with just ‘us’ was a lot of fun. We ate dinner at a back shop mom & pop Thai restaurant, checked out some shops, and then decided to check out the local comedy club show... yeah, not a good idea. Definitely wasn't G rated, or even PG...so we got some overpriced candy and headed out of there FAST, poor Clay didn't even get to eat his nachos!! So we decided to explore downtown instead... One recommendation would be to not visit the Amtrak station at midnight, although it was interesting to watch two homeless men almost get into a fight over whose turf it was. We were running away and laughing so hard - it is hard to do both of those things at the same time!!! The next morning we enjoying talking in front of the fire without interruption!!! Then we walked around Riverfront park, bought a old school retro Nintendo game console that we thought the kids would like, and ate Mod Pizza, of course!
