Do not try this at Home..

Never a dull moment at the Ward House... as if Wheezy cutting her hair today wasn't enough to do Laura in... now Detric gets hurt.... jumping off the bed no less...  It was just another evening in the Ward house...and kids were supposed to be getting ready for bed... well, Preston thought it would be a good idea to try and do Parkour events in their bedroom rather than bedtime. What is parkour you ask?  Why let me tell you:

par·kour /pärˈko͝or/ noun
the activity or sport of moving rapidly through an area, typically in an urban environment, negotiating obstacles by running, jumping, and climbing.

So Preston set up a course for Detric to jump off the bed doing twists and other tricks and then land on a pile of pillows.  I guess it went well the first few tries...but then Detric missed the pillows and landed right on his foot.  Now, the kid was screaming - which was what alarmed Clay and Laura downstairs - that hmmm maybe the kids weren't getting ready for bed!!!  Well, Detric was in so much pain he couldn't put any weight on it.  Oh shesh.  And the next day was class pictures - of course!  Detric stayed home from school because he couldn't walk, but Laura got him all ready and carried him into the school, put him in place for the picture, and then carried him back out.

We decided to have Jake Rabe (ER doctor who lives next door) come and take a look... he said because of the amount of pain and the location of the inury...he would take Detric in for an xray.  So we did.  Luckily the ER wasn't too crowded and we were in and out in an hour!! Whooo.  And the results were NO BREAK...double whohoo!!!  When Detric got home the Rabe's brought him over a special treat for being so brave.  We have the best neighbors ever!!!  Lesson Learned:

DO NOT TRY PARKOUR AT HOME!!
